Congress has asked district
administration to conduct quality test of bridges and culverts built on newly
constructed Tatibandh-Arang fourlane road. In this connection, the party’s
business cell has submitted memorandum to Collector Siddharth Komal Pardeshi on
Monday.
“First, technical flaws were found in
construction of Sarona overbridge. Now, there is another report of construction
flaw on underbridge at Ring Road No 1 near Tagore Nagar. We doubt that the
implementing agency – DS Construction, hired by NHAI to carry fourlane project,
has not ensured quality while constructing bridges and culverts over the
fourlane road,” said the cell’s state president Kanhaiyya Agrawal.
Alleging that DS Construction, NHAI
and PWD were together playing with lives of motorists, the cell demanded probe
into construction quality of the fourlane project by an independent agency.
Agrawal charged that DS Construction
staked quality of fourlane road since beginning of the project by greasing the
palms of relevant officials.
“When the Railways found that the
implementing agency had compromised quality norms while constructing Sarona
overbridge, it closed vehicle entry on particular stretch of the road. Since
then, two years have passed but DS Construction has not built new bridge as
directed. Instead, the implementing agency is attempting to obtain NOC from
Railways through wrong means,” he said.
While submitting memorandum to Collector,
Agrawal was accompanied by cell members Atul Raghuvanshi, Anurag Rathi, Vikrant
Shirke, Prateek Agrawal, Praveen Jain, Purushottam Sharma, Hemant Sahu, Atul
Shukla, etc.
