In wake of Durg rape incident, Congress on Wednesday
constituted a seven-member committee to probe into the matter. The convenor of
the panel will be Bemetara MLA Tamradhwaj Sahu.
The members of the panel will be Bhilai
MLA Badruddin Quraishi, Durg Rural MLA Pratima Chandrakar, Vaishalinagar MLA
Bhajan Singh Nirankari, PCC general secretary Arun Vora, Durg municipal
corporation mayor Nirmala Yadav and DCC Durg Rural president Ghanaram Sahu. The
party has assigned responsibility to DCC Durg Urban president RN Verma to help
the panel in investigation process.
Lashing at the government for failing to
maintain law and order in state, PCC head Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader
Ravindra Choubey said Women and girls were insecure in Chhattisgarh because the
BJP government was misusing police administration.
The duo asked the ruling party to take
moral responsibility of Durg rape incident.
