Union minister of state
for agriculture and food processing industries Charandas Mahant will flag off
new Riwa-Chirmiri/Bilaspur passenger train - 58229/58230 and 51753/51754 (daily)
at Chirmiri railway station on Sunday.
The union railway minister had announced
to start Riwa-Chirmiri/Bilaspur passenger train in rail budget 2013-14. Recently,
Mahant wrote a letter to railway minister urging the latter to quickly start
the training pointing its increasing demand in the region. He had also proposal
to start the train on the occasion of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on
April 14.
Mahant said he would try to ensure that
other rail projects announced for Chhattisgarh too may commence soon. Besides,
he said, he would also make attempts that Central budgetary announcements done
by other departments for Chhattisgarh could also start timely.
