90 assembly areas in 33 days
Yatra will start from Ambikapur on April
12 and conclude at Raipur
on May 27
Raipur, April 02, 2013
After commencing its statewide door-to-door campaign -
‘har ghar Congress, ghar-ghar Congress’ on April 1, Congress will kick start
its second drive of the month – the parivartan yatra from April 12 in five
phases. During the yatra, the party will organise 85 public rallies in 90
assembly areas in 33 days, informed party vice president and yatra incharge TS
Singhdeo while talking to scribes at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday.
The first phase of yatra will start on
April 12 from Ambikapur and conclude at Dharamjaigarh on April 18. The second
phase will start on April 22 from Raigarh and conclude at Bilaspur on April 27.
The third phase will begin on May 2 from Beltara and conclude at Balod on May
7. The fourth phase will commence on May 11 from Rajnandgaon and conclude at
Kasdol on May 16. The fifth phase will begin on May 20 from Dantewada and
conclude at Raipur
on May 27.
The state Congress chief Nandkumar Patel
informed that the party would also establish a control room at Congress Bhawan
during yatra period. The convenor and incharge of the control room will be
Abdul Hameed Hayat while co-convenors will be Ajay Tripathi, Ashok Bani and
Suresh Thakur. Besides, a host of media coordinators will also be appointed
during yatra, Patel said.
Asked whether parivartan yatra would bring
any change in state, Patel said the yatra would rather bring complete change in
Chhattisgarh. “We will continuously expose BJP’s grafts and scams at regular
intervals. The ruling party’s days are numbered,” he added.
Asked about the jobs assigned to party
MLAs for yatra, he said the former would remain active in their respective
constituencies not only during parivartan yatra but also during door-to-door
campaign.
To a question he informed that the party
would try to rope in national leaders during yatra. “The yatra will start in
presence of AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, Rajya Sabha MP Mohsina Kidwai, Chhattisgarh
Congress incharge BK Hariprasada, party veteran Vidyacharan Shukla and senior
party leaders of the state,” he said.
CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said the
Congress exposed the BJP government on various issues during state assembly’s
recently held budget session and would now raise all the issues again before
public through the two drives.
“Last year, we had alleged that the
government had appointed ineligible company owned by Sanchetis to excavate
Bhatgaon II and Bhatgaon-II Extension coal blocks. The CAG report too had
confirmed our allegation indicating that the government incurred massive loss.
This year too the CAG report says that the government exchequer has been dented
by Rs 1649 crore by benefiting Adani group that is closed linked top BJP
leader,” Choubey said.
Pointing towards recent explanation by
health minister Amar Agrawal regarding his alleged involvement in Bhadoura land
scam, Choubey said about 4 lakh acres of agricultural land had been reduced and
Bhadoura scam was just an example that even compelled the minister to clarify.
He said the Congress was not satisfied by Agrawal’s clarifications and would
keep raising the issue till the guilty persons are punished.
“Graft is major issue in Raman
Singh-government. The power companies waived off power bills worth Rs 30000
crore of industrialists. We will tell people about this in our two drives,” he
said.
