Union minister of state and acting PCC chief Charandas Mahant, who cut
short his New Delhi visit and hastily returned to Raipur after demise of
veteran party leader Vidya Charan Shukla, on Tuesday convened a brief meeting
of senior party leaders at Congress Bhawan and discussed about Shukla’s final
procession to be taken on Wednesday. CLP leader Ravindra Choubey too returned Raipur with Mahant.
Earlier,
Mahant and Choubey straightaway reached Congress Bhawan from Mana airport and
met the Congmen who had gathered there to express their grief over Shukla’s
demise.
The meeting
was attended by Choubey, PCC programme coordinator Bhupesh Baghel, Rajkamal
Singhania, Kuldeep Juneja, Paresh Bagbahra, Kiranmayi Nayak, Subhash Sharma,
Vidhan Mishra, Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Amit Pandey, Mahendra Chhabda, Sushil
Anand Shukla, etc.
