Raipur, June  27, 2013

Congress on Thursday asked state government to remove the nodal officer it has appointed for national investigation agency (NIC) team to probe into May 25 Darbha incident.

Alleging that the government deliberately appointed the particular official as nodal officer who had not provided security to the Congress parivartan yatra despite knowing in advance about naxal movement at Jiram vaelly in Darbha, acting PCC president Charandas Mahant and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said by doing so the government want to hide the facts.

They further charged that the nodal officer was misusing his discretionary rights to affect the probe.
