Congress has started preparing for tribute programme of its deceased
leaders in Jagdalpur on June 25. In this connection, while PCC programme
coordinator Bhupesh Baghel has talked to senior leaders over phone, the party
general secretary Subhash Sharma has written a letter to state office-bearers
and district heads.
The tribute programme will start at 12 pm and will be
attended by office-bearers of PCC, district units, block units, Pradesh Mahila
Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, cell, morchas, departments, elected public
representatives and senior leaders.
After a hiatus of one month, the party will restart
its activities from June 25 from the tribal region where its leaders were
attacked by Maoists when they were heading to Darbha from Sukma under
parivartan yatra on May 25, 2013.
After June 25, the party will also continue its
door-to-door campaign – ghar ghar Congress, har ghar Congress that was stopped
after May 25 incident. With just four months remaining for assembly elections,
the party want to expedite its activities in both urban and rural pockets.
In his two-day marathon meetings with the
office-bearers of PCC, DCCs and BCCs, Mahant tried to convey message to the
ruling BJP that the principal opposition would attack it with revived energy in
coming days.
Mahant is reviewing all the issues raised by the party
against the government in past one and a half years. The party is framing
strategy to raise these issues again at state, district and block levels.
Meanwhile, the party will prominently highlight May 25
incident in its campaigns and yatras and portray the BJP government as conspirator.
Since Mahant has hinted that next four months would be
crucial for the party, he is planning to rope in national leaders in every
major event to uphold the workers’ morale.
