Naxal attack: Supporters say Jogi not a conspirator

Raipur, June 01, 2013

After Congress MLA Ajit Jogi strongly defended himself against BJPians’ remarks that he had conspired to kill his fellow party leaders through Maoists, it was turn of his staunch supporters, who on Saturday came to his rescue and claimed of his innocence.

The Jogi stalwarts including MLAs, former MLAs, elected public representatives, party office-bearers at state, district and block levels and former assembly candidates from the party jointly condemned the allegations of conspiracy levelled by Madhya Pradesh BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar and BJP national general secretary Ananth Kumar against Jogi and said the charges were false and baseless.

They said the two BJPians were shifting blame to Jogi to hide mistakes of their government in Chhattisgarh.

They said while the Congress had lost a couple of its top-rung leaders in May 25 naxal attack due to government’s direct or indirect fault; the BJPians, on the other hand, were trying to divert public attention by dragging Jogi’s name into the matter.

Lashing at the government for qualifying the probe gamut of judicial commission by not including several significant points, they said to know the truth the government should at least wait till national investigation agency (NIA) completes its inquiry and submits report.

They said the BJP could not remove taint of Congress leaders’ murder by dragging Jogi’s name.

They warned the ruling party of launching massive protest if it continues its verbal assault against Jogi over baseless reasons.
