president Charandas Mahant termed senior Congress leader Vidya Charan Shukla’s
demise as major loss for Chhattisgarh and country.
“Shukla did much for
development of Chhattisgarh during his long political career,” he said. “Shukla
sacrificed his life for reestablishment of democracy in Chhattisgarh and to
beef up state Congress,” he added.
“He was dedicated to the party till the end
of his life. He lived for the Congress and died for the Congress. The Congmen
will always take inspiration from his martyrdom,” he said.
