Congress on Saturday alleged that Raipur Development Authority (RDA)
deceived landowners whose lands were acquired to development Kamal Vihar
project.
“The
RDA had announced that the landowners would get 35% of their actual land in developed
form but even in three years it has not commenced land allotment procedures for
them. Instead, it is planning to first sell plots,” said Congress business cell
president Kanhaiyya Agrawal.
“The
landowners are also not sure whether they would plot in the same place or
elsewhere in the project area,” he said.
He
alleged that the RDA wanted to first sell plots in prime locations and then allot
the remaining ones to landowners. “Certainly, the landowners would not get
anticipated benefit from these plots as their rate will be much low as compared
to those in prime locations,” he added.
He
further charged that Kamal Vihar project was progressing at snail’s pace and
fund was being spent on those works in which officials were getting massive
commission.
He
pointed that large tracts of lands acquired by RDA for Kamal Vihar project
belonged to farmers and some of them wanted to sell their lands to address
their financial problems, but were unable to do so due to delay in completion
of the project.
He
asked RDA to instantly allot developed plots to such farmers and other
landowners and then sell remaining plots.
