Congress has alleged that state government was not helping
Chhattisgarh’s pilgrims trapped in flood-hit Uttarakhand. In this connection, Union
minister of state and acting PCC chief Charandas Mahant has written a letter to
chief secretary Sunil Kumar and asked him to instantly provide help to the
state’s pilgrims.
In his letter
he said the Chhattisgarh government should quickly coordinate with the
Uttarakhand government to rescue the trapped pilgrims. The state government
should provide its helicopter for rescue operation in Uttarakhand for at least
one week, he added.
The Congress
spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi informed that several devotees from
Bilaspur, Janjgir, Baikunthpur, Manendragarh, etc directly contacted Mahant
when Chhattisgarh government did not extended its help to them.
Trivedi
pointed that when state’s devotees contacted Mahant the latter instantly talked
to Governor of Uttarakhand and state administration to provide help to the
disaster victims.
