Cong to govt: Rescue state’s 60 people trapped in Badrinath

Raipur, June 20, 2013

Congress on Thursday asked state government to instantly rescue a group of 60 pilgrims from Balodabazar which is trapped at Shankaracharya ashram in Badrinath.

The PCC spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi informed that one Manoj Verma from the group informed him about their condition and sought help. Many of the pilgrims in group are blood pressure, heart and diabetic patients and the stock of their medicines has exhausted, he said.

He appealed the state government to quickly save lives of the stranded pilgrims by sending helicopter.

The party reiterated that the state government was not serious in rescuing pilgrims of Chhattisgarh. More that 1000 pilgrims are trapped in rain-hit Uttarakhand but the Chhattisgarh government had failed to provide help to them, said acting PCC chief Charandas Mahant.
