Congress on Thursday asked state government to instantly rescue a group
of 60 pilgrims from Balodabazar which is trapped at Shankaracharya ashram in
Badrinath.
The PCC
spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi informed that one Manoj Verma from the
group informed him about their condition and sought help. Many of the pilgrims
in group are blood pressure, heart and diabetic patients and the stock of their
medicines has exhausted, he said.
He appealed
the state government to quickly save lives of the stranded pilgrims by sending helicopter.
The party
reiterated that the state government was not serious in rescuing pilgrims of Chhattisgarh.
More that 1000 pilgrims are trapped in rain-hit Uttarakhand but the
Chhattisgarh government had failed to provide help to them, said acting PCC
chief Charandas Mahant.
