Ignoring growing dissent among senior party leaders,
state Congress chief Nandkumar Patel will convene a significant meeting of
office-bearers at Congress Bhawan on March 5. In addition, there will be
meetings of Congress monitoring committee, disciplinary committee and building
construction committee on the same day.
The meeting of the office-bearers will be prominently
attended by the AICC secretary Bhakt Charandas who will reach state capital on
Sunday evening. Besides, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, party vice presidents,
general secretaries and secretaries will be present in the meeting.
While the partymen will primarily discuss on
organisational activities, Patel is likely to emphasise to cash in on the
issues like power tariff hike in coming days as it is directly related to the
public sentiments.
As the party’s top brasses will once again tour Bastar
division on March 6 and 7, Patel is likely to assign specific responsibilities
to the general secretaries who are incharge of Lok Sabha areas and secretaries
who are incharge of Vidhan Sabha areas.
During the tour, Patel and Choubey will convene four
meetings in two days in Kanker, Antagarh and Narayanpur. Besides, party’s
monitoring committee will conduct a meeting at Kanker.
All the meeting will be attended by convenor of
state’s Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Snagathan Dr Shakrajeet Nayak, PCC general
secretaries, incharge secretaries of Vidhan Sabhas, etc.
