Renowned film producer and director of Bollywood
Pahlaj Nihlani will inaugurate Sindhi litterateurs’ felicitation ceremony to be
organised by the National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language (NCPSL)
litterateurs at Pt JNM Medical College in the state capital on March 11. The
programme will also be attended by chairman of Global Sindhi Council Ram
Jawaharani. The duo will reach Raipur
at morning on March 11 through regular flight from Mumbai.
The vice chairman of the council Ramesh Warlyani
informed that another chief guest of the programme will be CLP leader Ravindra
Choubey. The special guests of the function will be Cultural Minister Brijmohan
Agrawal, Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities, Government of India Nandlal
Jotwani, RMC Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak and president of Chhattisgarh Sindhi Sahitya
Sansthan Murlidhar Makhija.
The programme will be presided over by Raipur-based
Shadani Darbar’s Sant Yudhishthirlal. The felicitation ceremony will be
followed by Sindhi musical night. Warlyani informed that renowned Sindhi
singers Pankaj Jaswani from New Delhi
and Kajal Chandiramani from Mumbai will present their programmes.
Warlyani said the felicitation ceremony would be
prideful moment for the entire Sindhi community as it would be the first
national event of NCPSL in the state. By far, the council has organised such
events in metropolitan cities of the country like Mumbai, New Delhi , Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
He informed that the three teams of organising members
had been sent to invite intellectuals of the Sindhi community across the state.
Warlyani has himself led a team comprising Mohan
Khatuja, Ashok Gurnani and Murli Ajwani and has invited community members in
Rajim, Dhamtari, Charama and Kanker.
While a team lead by Kanhaiyyalal Chhugani and
comprising Ishwar Bajaj, Mohanlal Prithyani, Jhamandas Athwani, and Ratan
Makhija will invite community members in Khursipar, Bhilai, Durg and
Rajnandgaon.
Another team led by Suresh Shadani and comprising Ravi
Keswani, Bhishm Kingrani, Harish Vaswani and Kamal Laheja will invite community
members in Tilda, Bhatapara, Bilha, Chakarbhatha and Bilaspur.
Notably, the council will felicitate twelve prominent
Sindhi litterateurs during the felicitation ceremony.
Warlyani informed that the council had printed 12-page
invitation cards for the programme. “We have briefly given introduction of all
the 12 Sindhi litterateurs who will receive award in the cards besides
informing about their contribution to the Sindhi community and achievements,”
Warlyani said.
