The Youth Congress (YC) on Thursday alleged that the Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CHB) was adopting partiality in house allocation and giving preference to the influential people instead of those who follow all the given procedures and wait for their turn under lottery system.
To mark their protest, the YC members led by their Raipur South general secretary Sandeep Tiwari gheraoed the CHB office based at Shankar Nagar and submitted memorandum to board commissioner. They warned of launching aggressive agitation if the board would not cancel all the house allocations instantly and organise fresh draw for the applicants.
Tiwari said that the CHB had allocated several houses under board’s project at Naya Raipur in phase-29 to the undeserving applicants.
“In fact, these applicants are those people who have used either political or other influence to get CHB house at Naya Raipur. But by doing so, the board has deceived many other middle-class applicants who rather purchased the application forms at the rate of 400/600/800 and were waiting for their luck to click in the lottery system,” Tiwari said.
On the occasion, Tiwari was accompanied by Akash Sharma, Bhavesh Shukla, Azhar Rahman, Zafar Iqbal, Gaurav Kaushik, Benjo Sharma, Nandu, Vikky Dongre, etc.
