The National Council for Promotion of Sindhi Language (NCPSL) will felicitate twelve prominent Sindhi litterateurs at Pt JNM Medical College at Raipur on Sunday. The felicitation ceremony will be inaugurated by famous film producer and director of Bollywood Pahlaj Nihlani. The chief guest of the programme will be CLP leader Ravindra Choubey while Cultural Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities, Government of India Nandlal Jotwani, RMC Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak and president of Chhattisgarh Sindhi Sahitya Sansthan Murlidhar Makhija will be special guests.
The programme will be presided over by Raipur-based Shadani Darbar’s Sant Yudhishthirlal. The vice chairman of the council Ramesh Warlyani informed that the programme will be especially attended by chairman of Global Sindhi Council Ram Jawaharani.
During the programme, council will confer lifetime achievement awards on Dr Dayal Asha from Ullhasnagar (Maharashtra) and Dr Prem Prakash from Ahmedabad (Gujarat) for their invaluable contribution in Sindhi literature. The duo will also receive cash award of Rs one lakh each.
While the ten other Sindhi litterateurs will receive cash award of Rs 50000 cash each. These litterateurs are – Gop Kamal (Pune), Valiram Kishnani (Adipur), Sarita Sharma, Manohar Chugh, Bansi Khoobchandani (Mumbai), Gyanchand Lalwani, Ashok Manwani (Bhopal) Motiram Ramchandani, Ghanshyam Sagar (Ahmedabad) and Ratan Israni (New Delhi).
The felicitation ceremony will begin with Sindhi musical programme which will be presented by renowned Sindhi singers Pankaj Jaswani from New Delhi and Kajal Chandiramani from Mumbai.
Warlyani informed that the intellectuals from Sindhi community from different parts of the country would participate in the felicitation ceremony. He said Sindhu Cultural Forum, Badhte Kadam and different Sindhi panchayats had extended their support to the council in making the programme successful.
