Congress on Friday asked from the government to
immediately fulfill the two-point demand of kotwars terming them important part
of the machinery.
“The kotwars play vital role in extending the
government reach to remote rural pockets from revenue to public welfare schemes.
However, the stipend and facilities they are much less as compared to their job
profile,” said party spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.
“The demands of kotwars are genuine. They ruling party
should announce them as the government employees and must give them salary and
all other perks. The government should also revoke the order of taking back
lands from the kotwars, earlier given to them for subsistence,” Shukla said.
