Public will show Maya way to Raman govt: Cong

Raipur, March 07, 2012

The Congress on Wednesday said that the Raman Singh-government need not smile after polls results of five states as it would also have to face humiliation in upcoming assembly elections as was faced by Mayawati’s corrupt government in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
“Mayawati’s BSP government could not win in UP because people were frustrated by corruption and terror. The people of Chhattisgarh too are facing similar circumstances. The Raman Singh-government is following Mayawati government’s suit and hence it will meet the same fate,” said PCC’s chief spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi.
Sharply reacting over BJP’s anti-Congress remarks after poll results in five states, Trivedi said the BJP should stop advising Congress as it was high time for the saffron party to do self-analysis.
“The poll results clearly indicate that while Congress has managed to increase its seats in all the five states, the BJP seats have reduced,” Trivedi claimed.
“The Congress seats in UP increased from 22 to 27, Punjab – from 42 to 46, Uttaranchal – from 21 to 32 and Manipur – from 30 to 42. While BJP seats increased only in Goa while its seats in UP reduced from 54 to 47, Punjab – from 19 to 12, Uttaranchal – from 35 to 31 and Manipur – zero like previous polls,” he elaborated.
“The mining scam in Chhattisgarh is larger than Karnataka’s and the epicentre of this scam is Chief Minister Raman Singh who seems reluctant clarifying his stand. Surprisingly, in past eight years of BJP regime, the CM has not trusted any of party’s people in the government – from panchayats to Cabinet. Hence, he has kept the most important portfolios like Energy and Mining with himself,” Trivedi alleged.
He said the BJP government was tyrannical and anti-democratic. He claimed that the BJP would not come in power in next Vidhan Sabha polls.
