Government will soon send a proposal to the Centre regarding extension of Riwa-Bilaspur passenger train to Raipur. In this connection, the Vidhan Sabha passed a non governmental resolution tabled by Congress legislator Dharmjeet Singh on behalf of fellow member Dr Renu Jogi in her absence on Friday.
Singh said extension of the train would make the journey of Raipurians and its nearby areas more comfortable as they too would plan their tours according to the train’s timings.
He pointed that the tour to forest reserves like Bandhavgarh National Park, religious places like Maihar and Amarkantak would be more convenient for the tourists of Raipur with the extension of the train.
Congress legislator TS Singhdeo said the extension of the train is need of the hour and the House should pass the resolution so that government could quickly send the proposal to the Centre.
Appreciating the resolution of Dr Renu Jogi, Tourism Minister Brijmohan Agrawal said that the train would be boon for Raipurians and people of nearby areas.
