The Sanskrit Board has proposed to open 17 new
government Sanskrit schools in next academic session. In this connection, the
board chairman Dr Ganesh Kaushik met Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday and
urged him to include the proposal in upcoming budget.
Later, he said he had already sent a request to the CM
regarding new schools. “We have also completed other formalities required to
open the new schools so that once the government will give its approval,
further proceedings would be done quickly,” he added.
Kaushik also informed the CM that the examination
conducted by the board started on Friday. He said the exam was held under
peaceful atmosphere on the first day and there was no report of disturbance in
any centre.
Kaushik further informed the CM that the board was conducting
exams in 17 centres in different parts of the state in the current academic session. About 2068 students have been enrolled for
the exams which will conclude on March 21, he added.
On the occasion, Kaushik was accompanied by Secretary
Sanskrit Board Dr Suresh Sharma.
