Govt implements PSGA in Health department

State government has implemented Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA) in Health department. Under the Act, the department would provide five types of services within given timeframe to the applicants.
The first service is cases pertaining to human organ transplantation. The officials of the department informed that the government has fixed 30 working days to redress these cases. These cases would be redressed by Raipur Collector. The arbitrator for such cases will be Commissioner Raipur division while Secretary Health will be appellate officer.
The second service is provision of certificates from Medical Board. Under the Act, now the board will have to provide certificates related to permanent disability, temporary disability and fitness n seven working days. The arbitrator for such cases will be chief medical and health officer while Joint Director Health Services will be appellate officer.
The third service is provision of delivery grant under Janani Suraksha Yojna (JSY). The applicants can now get this grant in seven working days.
The service providing officials in these cases will be women health workers of sub-health centres, medical officers of primary health centres, block medical officers of community health centres, civil surgeons/deputy hospital superintendents of district hospitals and chief hospital superintendents of main hospitals.
Similarly, for sub-health centres, medical officers of primary health centres will be arbitrators and block medical officers of community health centres will be appellate officers. While for primary health centres, block medical officer will be arbitrators and chief medical and health officers will be appellate officers.
The fourth service is regarding redressal/resolution of complaints/applications under Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Yojna and Mukhyamantri Bal Shravan Yojna in 30 working days. The nodal officer of the schemes will be service providing officers.
The fifth service is related to provision of compensation in 60 working days to the family members of a person who undergoes vasectomy/tubectomy if he/she dies or to if his/her operation fails. The compensation will be provided at the respective office of chief medical and health officer or civil surgeon.
