With an objective to prevent animal trafficking, state government has decided to constitute task force. A proposal in this connection was tabled during the meeting of Chhattisgarh Gau Sewa Ayog (CGSA) at Indira Gandhi Agriculture University (IGAU) campus on Thursday.
The meeting was convened by commission’s chairman Phoolchand Jain. In the meeting, Commission Agriculture Production MK Raut informed that the government has implemented Krishik Pashu Parirakshak Adhiniyam 2011 to check animal trafficking.
Jain said that the Act should be strictly followed by Animal Husbandry, Forest and Transport departments. Jain said help of police department should also be taken in preventing animal trafficking.
On the occasion were present commission’s ex officio members - Joint Secretary Animal Husbandry and Agriculture RK Singh, Additional Secretary Finance VR Bhagat, Director Agriculture PR Kridutt, CGSA member secretary Dr DK Siyar, non-governmental members – Ramesh Yadu, Sewaram Agrawal, Prem Singhania, Kailash Gupta, specially invited members – Arun Mishra, Purushottam Gandhi and Harish Sahu.
