The members of Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMC) led by their newly elected president Ambika Markam on Friday took out a silent rally against the BJP government holding it responsible for Balod eye camp incident. At Azad chowk, the PMC members paid tribute to the patients who died after cataract operation in the camp.
“The patients lost their eyesight and some of them died due to negligent attitude of the doctors. The Health Minister Amar Agrawal and the department’s officials are responsible for this incident,” said Markam demanding stern action against the guilty ones and removal of the minister.
She informed that the PMC would inform about the incident to LK Advani by giving him a memorandum on Saturday. “We will also hand over a memorandum against the government regarding corruption prevailed in the system,” Markam said.
The PMC members who participated in the rally were – Kalpana Patel, Dr Archana Chouhan, Chhaya Verma, Parvati Sahu, Dr Kalpana Deshmukh, Akda Thakur, Usha Rajjan Shrivastava, Suman Gautam, Neelu Thakur, Sharda Tiwari, Mamta Rai, Ganga Yadav, Asha Chouhan, Shraddha Rao, etc.
