The Commercial Tax department has cancelled registration of about 23960 firms terming them either bogus or
non-functional.
The officials of the department informed that the action was taken against those firms which were registered years ago but were never active and functional from the beginning.
Among nine circles of Raipur district, the department has cancelled - 1168 registrations in Raipur circle 1, 1136 – Raipur circle 2, 1345 – Raipur circle 3, 1070 - Raipur circle 4, 869 - Raipur circle 5, 347 - Raipur circle 6, 706 - Raipur circle – 7, 560 - Raipur circle 8, 683 - Raipur circle 9.
Similarly, 573 registrations were cancelled in Dhamtari circle, 449 – Mahasamund circle, 820 – Jagdalpur circle 1, 737 - Jagdalpur circle – 2, 939 – Bilaspur circle 1, 1027 - Bilaspur circle 2, 323 - Bilaspur circle 3, 647 – Janjgir-Champa circle, 1083 – Koria circle, 647 – Raigarh circle 1, 323 – Raigarh circle 2, 2048 – Sarguja circle 2, 971 – Korba circle, 982 – Durg circle 1, 1266 - Durg circle 2, 938 - Durg circle 3, 577 - Durg circle 4 and 1726 - Rajnandgaon circle.
