NSUI hangs effigies of CM, Health Minister



Raipur, October 19, 2011

Holding Chief Minister Raman Singh and Health Minister Amar Agrawal responsible for the deaths of three patients who underwent cataract operation in the eye camp at Balod the NSUI members led by former president of the organisation Sanjeev Shukla hanged the effigies of the duo in front of Congress Bhawan on Wednesday.
Shukla alleged that over 50 patients lost their eyesight in the camp due to use of fake medicines.
He said both the CM and the Health Minister should tender their resignation. The NSUI also demanded Rs 10 lakh each for the patients who lost their eyesight and Rs 25 lakh each for those who died.
Shukla said the NSUI was making strategy to raise issues of PMT paper leak episode, Balod eye camp incident and corruption prevailed in the government during the anti-corruption rally of BJP’s veteran leader LK Advani on October 22.
