Mahendra Chhabra, Rajesh Bissa, Amir Ali Farishta, Sushil Anand Shukla become spokespersons of party media cell

Raipur, October 07, 2011

After declaration of PCC executive, the AICC has reconstituted PCC media cell and has made Shailesh Nitin Trivedi as chief spokesperson (or chairman). The other spokespersons are Mahendra Chhabra, Rajesh Bissa, Amir Ali Farishta and Sushil Anand Shukla. The official announcement about the restructured media cell was done by AICC general secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
Changes continue in the party’s organisational setup and this time it was the media cell where the Congress high command did the anticipated surgery. Prior to new structure, a host of spokespersons were existing in the PCC, however, only a couple were active.
After holding the baton of the state unit Congress, Nandkumar Patel had apparently hinted that he wanted only performing people in his team. He was concerned about the media cell and wanted to induct such faces who could improve party’s interactive image before public through their assigned routine activities.
Patel, therefore, prompted the name of Shailesh Nitin Trivedi as chief spokesperson before the high command. Trivedi, who once had close affinity with former chief minister Ajit Jogi, now belongs to Patel camp. In fact, Trivedi has been actively assisting Patel in his party activity schedules since the recent past. His dedication helped him ear the post of chief spokesperson in PCC, said sources.
Nevertheless, the staunch supporters of the party’s veteran politician and AICC treasure Motilal Vora continued to get preference over the stalwarts of the other camps and in media cell reshuffle too, three from his camp got the coveted posts of spokespersons. The three are – Mahendra Chhabra, Rajesh Bissa and Amir Ali Farishta.
Another spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla is a surprise inclusion in the media cell for the many of the partymen as this Jogi supporter was never among the frontrunners. Sources said Shukla’s induction indicated Jogi’s hard work to place one of his men among the final list of five mouthpieces so that his messages could be could be frequently conveyed to the public officially.
In the media cell, the supporters of Korba MP and union minister Charandas Mahant, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey and senior party leader Vidya Charan Shukla have been once again ignored.
