RSU admin adopting double standard: Employee union

Raipur, October 19, 2011

Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (RSU) Karmachari Sangh on Wednesday alleged that the varsity administration was adopting double standard towards the employees. “It is unfortunate that the varsity has reinstated two teachers and one official in spite of charges being proved against them while decided to take punitive action against the innocent employees,” said union secretary Pradeep Kumar Mishra on the third consecutive day of sangh’s hunger strike.
“Recently, retired Justice Surya Kumar Tiwari from Kolkata High Court was appointed as an independent probe official to inquire into the charges against two teachers, one official and two employees of the RSU. Justice Tiwari in his report said the two teachers and the official were guilty but the varsity administration ignored it and reinstated all three of them. However, the RSU Executive Council did not hesitate in taking decision to sack or give permanent retirement to the two employees who were exonerated by the probe official,” informed Mishra.
On Wednesday, the union’s Deepak Netam, Sonsai Thakur, Ganesh Ram Yadav and former president of IGAU Karmachari Kalyan Sangh Raghunath Singh Yadav participate in the hunger strike. The four said the employees compel to sit on strike when they become victim of injustice and partiality.
On Thursday, Vishnu Ram Verma, Raghuveer Singh Thakur and Hemant Sahu from the union would sit in the hunger strike. Mishra informed that five representatives of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya Khairagarh Karmachari Sangh will also sit in support of the union’s strike on Thursday.
