The government’s Social Welfare Department is distributing pension to about 351098 lakh people every month under Social Security Scheme (SSS). Each beneficiary is getting Rs 200 per month pension under the scheme. The officials of Social Welfare Department informed that highest number of pension recipients under SSS is from Bilaspur district – 48143 followed by Raipur– 46744 and Durg – 43615. Similarly, beneficiaries in other districts are – Mahasamund – 14127, Dhamtari – 8484, Rajnandgaon – 16148, Jagdalpur (Bastar) – 19447, Dantewada (South Bastar) – 5345, Kabeerdham (Kawardha) – 9813, Kanker (North Bastar) – 7727, Bijapur – 1753, Narayanpur – 2960, Korba – 14482, Janjgir-Champa – 37640, Raigarh – 22408, Jashpur – 8519, Sarguja - 34659 and Koria – 9064.
