With National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) polls in the offing, the executive body of the organisation dissolved on Sunday. Now, the NSUI’s membership campaign will begin in colleges and the new executive body would be elected according to AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s formula. The NSUI elections in the colleges would be organised in democratic pattern from November 1 to 20.
Presently the charge of state NSUI is in hands of the organisation’s central election committee incharge Vinay Tomar (Gujarat). He is accompanied by two pradesh returning officers (PROs) Rakesh Yadav from Madhya Pradesh and Manthan Pathak from Maharashtra.
Tomar informed that the NSUI’s membership campaign would conclude on October 15. The organisation target one lakh new members in this campaign. Tomar said any of the college student can become the member of the NSUI by producing his or her identity card issued by the institute or admission fee receipt. The membership fee will be Rs ten.
After the campaign, the list of NSUI members would be prepared. This list would be the actual voter list for the organisational polls.
