Irregularities in Markfed: YC submits memo to Kanwar

The Youth Congress (YC) has alleged that irregularities prevailed in Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Limited (Markfed) due to which the government is incurring huge loss. In this connection, a delegation of YC members led by their state vice president Deepak Mishra on Friday submitted a memorandum to Cooperative Minister Nankiram Kanwar demanding stern action against corrupt officials.
“Six companies which supplied medicines including pesticides, insecticides, etc to Markfed in 2010-11 had agreeably signed contract that they would not provide the same materials to any other cooperative society or government institute in the same fiscal. But these companies breeched section-31 of the contract and supplied the same materials to Beej Vikas Nigam,” the delegation said and urged the minister to blacklist all the six companies besides annulling their agreements.
The six medicine suppliers were – Ma Bhagwati Biotech and Chemical Wardha, Microplex India Durg, Indore Biotech Input and Research Private Limited Raipur, Om Agro Organics Yawatmal, Central Biotech Savner Nagpur and Prithvi Fertiliser Private Limited.
The delegation was comprised of Naresh Gadhpal, Vipin Mishra, Ankit Chakravarthy, Harish Santwani, Ashish Dwivedi, Waseem Kasif, Ashish Dodani, Hamjuddin, Ujjwal, Ashfaq, Neel Agrawal, etc.

Cong gheraos NHAI office

Demanding rapid completion of fourlane project at Ring Road No 1, the Congress leaders led by DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal on Friday gheraoed the Shankar Nagar-based office of National Authority of India (NHAI). Later, the Congress also gheraoed the office of DS Vicon, the construction company hired by NHAI for the fourlane project, and asked the officials to expedite the work. Notably, the Congress has consistently urged the NHAI and DS Vicon to rid motorists from gridlock and potholes at Ring Road No 1 but the project has not taken anticipated pace.
In favour of their demands, the Congress leaders also submitted separate memorandums to NHAI’s incharge project director Vijay Shrivastava and director of DS Vicon ID Rai.
The Congress leaders who accompanied Dhariwal to gherao NHAI and DS Vicon’s offices were – vice president Madan Lal Taleda, spokesperson Sheikh Shakeel, Jagdish Ahuja, Satnam Singh Panag, Nitin Thakur, Sharik Rais Khan, Dinesh Tiwari, Devendra Yadav, etc.
