Hariprasada to hold Cong meting on May 8

AICC general secretary and state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada will hold meeting of PCC office-bearers at Congress Bhawan on May 8. The meeting will be attended by state unit president Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, party vice presidents and general secretaries. The party’s monitoring committee and discipline committee will also hold meetings on May 8.
PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda informed that Hariprasada would reach Raipur on May 7 evening though regular flight from New Delhi. He will return to national capital on May 8 evening.
Chhabda informed that Hariprasada would take stock of the preparation of the party’s state-level training programme during the meeting. Notably, the party has by far organised Vidhan Sabha-level training programmes for selected workers. The objective of the training is to train a group of workers at booth-level who could in turn encourage the partymen in their respective areas to prepare for 2013 mission.
Hariprasada will also discuss over the party’s future vada nibhao abhiyan (VNA) in different parts of the state. The party has presently announced that the next VNA would be organised at Patan on May 13.
He will further talk about party plans to gherao the government on power tariff hike. The party does not want to loose the opportunity to hit at the government on this issue. Sources informed that Hariprasada, during his recent visit, had instructed Patel to collect evidences pertaining to government’s transmission scam which would be exposed by the Congress in coming days.
The second meeting will be convened by monitoring committee chairman Arvind Netam. He is likely to ask committee members to start gathering evidences of grafts in Central schemes being implemented in the state.
The meeting of the discipline committee will also be significant as the matter of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) corporator from the party Lakhwant Singh Gill would be discussed. Notably, the party member and RMC Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak and other Congress corporators had complained to DCC Raipur Urban Inderchand Dhariwal that Gill voted against the municipal’s budget proposal. Gill has rejected all the allegations against him and has given long explanation to the party. Dhariwal has forwarded Gill’s letter to party president who in turn has forwarded it to the discipline committee for final decision.
