Rahul aims to strengthen workers: Hariprasada

Raipur, May 15, 2012

The young Gandhi scion Rahul Gandhi is concentrating in strengthening workers, not leaders and he will do the same in Chhattisgarh too. The information was imparted by AICC general secretary and state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada while he was briefing the media at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday.
Hariprasada, who arrived in state capital a day before the commencement of the party’s state-level training camp at Rajkumar College (RKC) to oversee the final preparations, informed that Gandhi’s special protection group (SPG) had reached city on Tuesday.
“Gandhi’s SPG inspected RKC and indoor stadium where Youth Congress will organise its state-level panchayat, he said.
For security reasons, the NSUI programme would be organised at RKC instead of earlier proposed Netaji Subhash stadium, he said. “Security is again a major reason why we are not disclosing Gandhi’s minute-to-minute programmes,” he said.
He informed that Gandhi will reach Raipur on May 18 morning at about 9 am.
“He will straightaway go to RKC from Mana airport and address the DCC and BCC presidents in the training camp. Then he will address NSUI workers in the same RKC premises followed by interacting with the YC members at indoor stadium. Thereafter, he will meet different delegations and then talk to party office-bearers during tea-break,” said Hariprasada.
The training camp will commence at 7 pm on Wednesday. “The AICC treasurer will inaugurate camp followed by distribution of admit cards,” he said.
“The training session of the camp participants will begin on May 17. The subject experts including former Union Minister Manishankar Ayyer, Ram Puniyani, MP Tiwari, Brijesh Kallapa, Bhalchand Mungekar, etc will impart training on different topics,” he said.
When asked would the factionalism in the party end with the training camp and arrival of Gandhi, Hariprasada said the Congress had always been united.
