YC panchayat conference venue to be decided today

Raipur, May 11, 2012

The panchayat conference of state Youth Congress (YC) will be organised on May 18 but the venue has not yet been finalised. The YC members had first selected Netaji Subhash stadium for the conference but the opted for indoor stadium anticipating accumulation of massive crowd to listen AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi. In this connection, the YC application has reached to district administration which will decide whether to give the indoor stadium for panchayat or not.
The state YC president Uttam Vasudev has already constituted different committees for smooth conduction of the conference. However, it has not yet started its preparations for the conference due to uncertain venue. Its preparations will be led by Amit Jogi.
Notably, recently the Chief Minster Raman Singh had announced that the indoor stadium would be given only for sporting activities and not for other programmes. But the YC considers indoor stadium as the most suitable location to organise the conference as the outside traffic pressure would be less in the area.
Recently, Vasudev had sought permission from Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) mayor Kiranmayi Nayak through application regarding provision of indoor stadium on May 18. Considering CM’s announcement, Nayak forwarded the application to district administration.
The YC sources informed that the district administration is likely to lend his permission for indoor stadium as no sporting tournament being organised there currently.

While YC is confused over its panchayat conference venue, the PCC has started preparation for its three-day state-level training camp to be organised at Rajkumar College from May 16-18. As Rahul Gandhi is said to be addressing the Congmen during the concluding day of the camp, the party leadership is eagerly waiting confirmation from him. In this connection, the AICC general secretary and state unit incharge BK Hariprasada has reportedly given invited Gandhi urging him to attend the concluding day event of the camp but the latter has not yet nodded.
