The Congress will organise three-day state-level training camp from May 16-18. A decision in this connection was taken during the party meeting headed by AICC general secretary and state unit incharge BK Hariprasada at Congress Bhawan on Tuesday. It was decided in the meeting to invite AICC treasurer Motilal Vora during inauguration of the training camp on May 16 and to invite party’s national general secretary Rahul Gandhi during the concluding day on May 18. The meeting was immediately followed by the meetings of party’s monitoring and discipline committees.
The party’s chief spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi informed that training on May 16 would be imparted by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industry Charandas Mahant, senior Congress leader Vidya Charan Shukla, Rajya Sabha member Mohsina Kidwai, legislator Ajit Jogi, Arvind Netam, etc.
“On the first day of the camp, these leaders will inform the participants about the tradition, policies and principles of the party. Besides, they will introduce the partymen the rich history of Congress,” said Trivedi.
On May 17 and 18, the national level trainers having expertise in different subjects will inform participants about life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi, struggle of Congress against communalism, significance of Constitution, role played by Congress in making of the country, flagship programmes of UPA government, etc.
The participants in the camp will be PCC office-bearers, members, DCC and BCC presidents.
Trivedi informed that considering arrival of Rahul Gandhi, four delegations have sought his appointment for submission of memorandums. While one of the delegations will represent tribal community which will inform Gandhi about lathicharge on tribals in capital city, another delegation will belong to scheduled caste community (SC) that will complain regarding slashing of their quota from 14% to 12%. Similarly a delegation of farmers will inform Gandhi about farmers’ woes while a delegation of women will raise the issue of over 10000 missing girls in north Chhattisgarh.
In addition, a delegation from party representing panchayati raj institutes and civic bodies will tell Gandhi about the biased attitude of the government towards them.
The meeting was attended by state unit president Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, Vidya Charan Shukla, Ajit Jogi, treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal, vice presidents – TS Singhdeo, Baijnath Chandrakar, Kawasi Lakhma, Pradeep Choubey, Krishna Kumar Gupta, Haridas Bhardwaj, general secretaries – Subhash Sharma, Arun Vora, Dr Premsai Singh, Ramesh Warlyani, Shiv Kumar Daharia, Vidhan Mishra, Padma Manhar, Chandrabhan Barmate, members – Abdul Hameed Hayat, Uday Mudliyar, Deepak Dubey and Shailesh Nitin Trivedi.
