Ingrid to Rahul: I will never attend any of your progs in future

Was denied permission to share stage with Rahul

Angry parliamentarian resigns from all posts of PCC

Raipur, May 18, 2012

Ingrid Mcleod, the nominated Anglo-Indian member of Lok Sabha from Congress, has written a letter to the party’s national general secretary’s Rahul Gandhi that she would never attend any of his programmes in future. The infuriated MP was provoked to write this letter to Gandhi when state Congress incharge Hariprasada did not allow her to sit on the stage along with other senior leaders during Gandhi’s address on final day of the party’s training camp at Rajkumar College (RKC) on Friday.
McLeod also resigned from all posts of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). “I take this opportunity to tender my resignation from the post of permanent invitee from PCC and from the post of PCC delegate,” she wrote.
Informing about the incident that took place just before Gandhi’s arrival, she wrote that she attended the concluding day of the camp as an MP. “When I took the seat on the stage along with other MPs and senior leaders, Hariprasada asked me to get off. He further said that Rahul Gandhi wants you to get off the dias. I immediately left the seat and got off the dias,” she said.
She said it was the greatest insult to her as a woman, an MP and representative of Anglo-Indian community. “It is also an insult to seven lakh members of catholic community in Chhattisgarh and also to the catholic community at large across India,” she added.
“I take full responsibility for occupying a seat on the dias and in future, I will never attend any of your programmes,” she wrote to Gandhi.
