YC burns effigies of CM, HM

Raipur, May 15, 2012

Holding government responsible for rising naxal violence in state, the Youth Congress (YC) burnt effigies of Chief Minister Raman Singh and Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar at Budhapara-based dharna spot on Tuesday.
“The recent killings of jawans by Maoists at Kirandool in Dantewada district is the consequence of ‘no synchronisation’ between the CM and HM,” said YC West general secretary Deepak Jaiswal.
“While the CM has constituted high power committee under a pact with the extremists, the HM says holding talks for peace and truce is sheer wastage of time. In this scenario, how will the government curb naxalism,” asked Jaiswal.
He alleged that the government had failed to reach remote parts of Bastar and the entire region is under the grip of Maoists. “The government is non-existent in Bastar. There is only naxal terror, not development,” he said.
He warned the government of launching massive protest movement against it if it fails to check increasing naxal violence.
On the occasion, Jaiswal was accompanied by Shiekh Shakeel, Himanshu Verma, Yogesh Tiwari, Pankaj Thakur, Rajeev Shrivas, Vinay Sharma, Jeetendra Saraf, Hitesh Choubey, Vijay Soni, Dev Pathari, Sawan Kashyap, Akash Kashyap, Rahul Thakur, Pratap Sahu, Motu Sahu, Kanhaiyya, etc.
