The employees of Water Resources Department (WRD) on Tuesday demonstrated before the office of their Engineer-in-Chief (EIC) BL Rai and demanded revocation of shifting of two Chief Engineer (CE) offices. In this connection, the employees also submitted a memorandum to Rai.
The leaders of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Tritiya Varg Shashkiya Karmachari Sangh (Yadav Gut) Idrish Khan and Umesh Mudliyar informed that the WRD was shifting office of the CE Mahanadi Project to Jagdalpur and office of the CE Hasdev to Ambikapur.
They informed that Jagdalpur and Ambikapur already have sub-division, division and circle offices of the department and all the WRD works including construction works were being carried out smoothly there. “However, the two CE offices are being shifted on political pressure. This will only create problems to thousands of officials and employees - both mentally and financially,” they said.
They warned of stopping works of the entire department if their demand would not be met.
The delegation which met Rai was comprised of Vijay Jha, Naresh Wadher, Raju Mudliyar, Dayanand Mudliyar, Iqbal Shareef, Sunil Jain, Raviraj Pillai, Farooq Quraishi, etc.
