Highlights of Rahul Gandhi's Raipur visit to attend Congress training camp

Raipur, May 18, 2012

Strong security arrangements were made at Mana airport during Rahul Gandhi’s arrival. Only senior Congress leaders including AICC general secretary and state unit incharge BK Hariprasada, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industry Charandas Mahant, PCC president Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, etc reached airport to receive him.

Rahul Gandhi reached Raipur along with AICC treasurer Motilal Vora from New Delhi through regular flight.

Jogi faction was most active and dominant in all the programmes addressed by Rahul Gandhi – whether it was training camp, YC panchayat, NSUI event, panchayat representatives’ programme.

At training camp, almost all the senior leaders wanted to sit on the stage but when MP Ingrid McLeod was denied permission, they were stunned and assumed seats along with the participants.

Before arrival of Rahul Gandhi, one Congress leader became victim of pickpocketing. However, the Congmen trapped the pickpocket and beat him.

Mismanagement prevailed at RKC premises the entire day as the leaders and workers were seen requesting to party office-bearers to provide admit cards for training camp.

Congress had invited all the senior leaders from different parts of state, but many were seen complaining when the security personnel did not let them inside the training camp site. MLA Kuldeep Juneja and PCC spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi were among several disgruntled partymen who could not hide their anger when they were stopped at camp gate.
