Senior Congress MLA Ajit Jogi on Monday said that the demands of
grade-III employees and Aanganbadi workers were genuine and the government should
put a heedful ear towards them.
He said while the works in government departments were
not progressing due to striking grade-III employees, health services in rural
sector got paralysed because of Aanganbadi workers dharna.
“The government has incurred revenue loss of over Rs
500 crore due to striking employees. The clerical staffers have requested the
government to consider over their demands several times in the past, but in
vain,” he said.
Further condemning naxal attack on Indian Air Force’s
(IAF) helicopter, he said the ruling party had completely failed in discharging
its responsibility.
“It simply rubs its hands by giving tribute to martyr
jawans. The BJP government has failed to maintain law and order in the state. It
is also not supporting the Centre in dealing the Maoists’ issue. This has
resulted in increased naxal attacks on base camps of paramilitary forces,” Jogi
said.
He alleged that the ruling party did not want to solve
the naxal problem because it aimed to take political benefit of the
socio-economic problem during upcoming assembly polls.
He demanded unconditional release of NSUI activists
who were recently arrested by the police under various sections of Indian Penal
Code (ICP) while they were proceeding towards Rajbhavan in the form of a rally to
give memorandum to Governor pertaining to Kanker rape incident.
Jogi said the government first adopted fascistic
attitude and lathicharged on peaceful rally of the NSUI workers.
He appealed to the NSUI members to take pledge to
dethrone the BJP government.
