Government has decided to give scholarship every student of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). Earlier, scholarship was given to students belonging to SC, ST and BPL categories.
The government has further lifted the age limit to receive scholarship in ITIs. Besides, the scholarship amount has been hiked from Rs 125 to Rs 300.
The technical education and manpower planning minister Ramvichar Netam informed that the scholarship scheme will benefit about 20000 students undergoing training in branches in 118 government ITIs across the state.
Sirpur tableau wins 3rd prize, Guv congratulates DPR team
Raipur, Jan 30: Governor Shekhar Dutt on Wednesday congratulated department of public relations and people of Chhattisgarh for Sirpur tableau obtaining third prize at Republic Day parade at New Delhi on January 26. Terming it a prideful moment, Dutt said the Sirpur tableau displayed rich and ancient tradition of Chhattisgarh during parade. He hoped the DP staff would continue promoting similar efforts to impart unique identity to the state.
Mass marriage function today
Raipur, Jan 30: The government-sponsored mass marriage of 2100 girls under Mukhyamantri Kanyadaan Yojna (MKY) will be performed by women and child development department at Science College ground at 12 pm on Thursday. On the occasion, chief minister Raman Singh will be chief guest while Raipur parliamentarian Ramesh Bais will preside over the function.
The government launched MKY in 2005-06 with an aim to provide financial succor to the poor families to perform marriage of their daughters under its mass marriage function. Presently, the government incurs Rs 15000 on each girl’s marriage.
The mass marriage function will be attended by home minister Nankiram Kanwar, PWD minister Brijmohan Agrawal, women and child development minister Lata Usendi, industries and commerce minister Rajesh Munat, higher education minister Ramvichar Netam, food and civil supplies minister Punnulal Mohle, agriculture minister Chandrashekhar Sahu, health minister Amar Agrawal, panchayat and rural development minister Hemchand Yadav, forest minister Vikram Usendi, tribal development minister Kedar Kashyap, revenue minister Dayaldas Baghel, Durg Lok Sabha MP Saroj Pandey, Raipur Rural MLA Nandkumar Sahu and Raipur North MLA Kuldeep Juneja.
Health min launches two websites
Raipur, Jan 30: Health Minister Amar Agrawal launched two official websites –www.cgncd.in and www.cgmedicalcouncil.org at directorate health and family welfare on Wednesday.
He informed that the people could fetch significant tips pertaining to non-infectious diseases like cancer, hyper tension, diabetes, tobacco addiction, etc by browsing website - www.cgncd.in. There will also be a health calculator in this website through which people could know about their health status, he said.
Besides, through website - www.cgmedicalcouncil.org the doctors of Chhattisgarh could register themselves online. The website will also contain information about registered doctors.
After launching websites, Agrawal reviewed progress of health programmes like Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojna, Mukhyamantri Shahri Swasthya and Rashtriya Gramin Swasthya Bima Yojna.
He informed that facility of Sanjeevni 108 express had been extended to all 27 districts of the state. He said soon the government will commence ‘mahtari express’ in every development block to safe delivery of pregnant women. The government will also start a toll free number – 104 to provide free medical consultancy to the needy ones, he said.
In the meeting, Agrawal also took stock of arrangement of ambulances, availability of medicinal stocks and equipment in every district.
