The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) has hailed decision to
include name of nominee in bank or post office accounts of MNREGA labourers.
The INTUC’s state secretary Prabhat Kaushik termed the
decision as wise step.
“Earlier, there was no provision of nominee in MNREGA
labourer’s account. Hence, in case of the labourer’s sudden demise, his family
members were not getting the payment from the bank or post office,” Kaushik
said.
