Alleging that the government had not done anything for youth in last nine years, Congress on Monday said the ruling party was merely deceiving the youngsters by organising Yuwa Adhiveshan (youth summit).
“The BJP had promised of giving unemployment allowance to youth in its poll manifestos in 2003 and 2008 but never fulfilled it. It should first tender apology to youngsters at Yuwa Adhiveshan,” said Congress spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda.
He said the government should also tell youth about progress of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 119932 crore it did with investors during Rajyotsav 2012. “The government had claimed that 621670 unemployed youth of Chhattisgarh would get job with such a massive investment,” he added.
He further reminded the ruling BJP that it had not yet taken any initiative on creating village-oriented jobs to check migration of rural youth.
In addition, he said, the government must tell the number of unemployed youth whom it had provided job.
