Cong advises BJP to mind its own business

Raipur, January 21, 2013

Reacting over critical remarks of BJP leaders against Congress chintan shivir, Congress on Monday said they should rather show concern towards their party’s shrinking domain in the state instead of finding faults in others.

“It is high time for BJP’s organisational office-bearers to stop flattering chief minister and other ministers and tell about ground reality of their party to national leadership,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.

“The BJP has always betrayed people on pretext of votes. It deceived farmers by promising to give them Rs 270 paddy bonus and free electricity up to 5 HP pumps for irrigation. It earlier promised the Shikshakarmis of merger, but refused to do so later. It is not even reinstating the Shikshakarmis who were terminated during their strike,” he said.

“Similarly, the government had that it would provide employment to at least one member of every tribal family but then curtailed reservation quota of scheduled caste category,” he added.

He said it was an irony that in the backdrop of increasing women abuse cases and disclosure of incidents like Kanker rape, the BJPians are praising their CM and ministers. “In fact, the BJP government is least bothered of disturbances prevailed in state’s tribal regions – Sarguja and Bastar divisions,” he alleged.

He ridiculed the government for claiming of eradication of naxalism from Sukma district pointing towards killing of jawans and Maoists attack on IAF helicopter in the region.

“The ruling party has nothing to boast about its achievements in past nine years except corruption and misuse of power by its leaders to make huge bucks,” he charged.

“The BJP has sold water, forests, lands and rich minerals of the state. The people of Chhattisgarh will respond to its lies and betrayals in next Vidhan Sabha elections in the 2013 end,” he said.
