The government employees will go on two-day statewide strike under the
banner of Chhattisgarh Class Three Government Employees’ Association (CCTGEA) in
favour of their demands on February 20 and 21, 2013.
“The policies of union and state governments are
against employees. Besides, the state government recently ignored genuine
demands of striking employees, teachers and clerks. Hence, the association will
once again put all the demands of government employees through the strike,”
said the CCTGEA state spokesperson Rakesh Sharma on Wednesday.
He informed that the government staffers would also
take out district-level rallies prior to their statewide strike. On Thursday
and Friday, the district-level rally will be taken out in Jagdalpur and
Bemetara respectively, he said.
In addition, the national vice president of All India
State Government Employees’ Federation (AISGEF) Narendra Singh Chandrakar and
CCTGEA state president CL Sahu will tour to entire state and appeal government
staffers to make the statewide strike successful. The duo will also inform
employees about the association’s major demands during their tour.
Sharma held Centre’s neo-liberal policies responsible
for aggravating financial condition of labourers and employees. He informed
that the association recently submitted memorandum regarding price rise,
unemployment, contractual system, FDI in banking insurance, etc to chief
secretary.
