NSUI padyatra concludes today

The NSUI will conclude its eight-day ‘nari asmita bachao’ padyatra in protest of Kanker rape incident at Raipur on Wednesday.

The NSUI vice president Subodh Haritwal informed that the padyatra will conclude near Netaji Subhash stadium where senior organisational members and Congress leaders will address the participants.

Thereafter, a delegation of NSUI members will proceed to Rajbhavan to submit a memorandum to Governor regarding Kanker rape incident.

Notably, the NSUI members led by their national president Rohit Choudhary had commenced the 142 km long padyatra from Kanker on January 30, 2013.

The Congress leaders from New Delhi including movie star Nagma, Renuka Choudhary and Deepa Dasmunshi also participated in this padyatra.

On Tuesday, senior Congress MLA Ajit Jogi addressed the padyatra participants at Kendri. At noon, PCC president Nandkumar Patel also talked to padyatra participants. At evening, the padyatra reached Devpuri where Jogi addressed the participants again.

According to information, Jogi supporters have made adequate preparation to welcome padyatra from Mana to Raipur. They will welcome padyatra participants wearing Jogi’s mask. They have also installed large number of hoardings along with banners and posters at roadsides.

On the other hand, the Congress organisational faction is also preparing to welcome the padyatra at different locations.


Bhakt Charandas, SK Sahay, Sandeep Dixit arriving today

AICC secretary and Chhattisgarh Congress incharge Bhakt Charandas, former union tourism minister Subodh Kant Sahay and Lok Sabha member Sandeep Dixit will arrive in state capital on Wednesday to participate in NSUI’s ‘nari asmita bachao’ padyatra in protest of Kanker rape incident.

According to information, Charandas, Sahay and Dixit will join the NSUI’s padyatra from Devpuri to Raipur. Later, the trio will address the NSUI rally near Netaji Subhash stadium.

The NSUI vice president Subodh Haritwal informed that former union minister Shakeel Ahmed, who was supposed to reach Raipur on Tuesday to attend NSUI padyatra from Kendri to Devpuri, had to cancel his trip in the last minute.
