Patel stresses on Cong membership drive

PCC president Nandkumar Patel feels that Congress needs to increase its domain before going to assembly polls in 2013 end. 

In this connection, he has appealed state unit office-bearers to expedite membership drive at booth-level. Patel’s appeal came while he was reviewing organisational activities during PCC office-bearers meeting that held at Congress Bhawan on Monday.

He said the party should also concentrate on tehsil-gherao programmes and manthan camps in February.

He asked the Lok Sabha incharge general secretaries to ensure that the DCCs and BCCs of their assigned areas convene regular monthly meetings. He said the executive bodies of pending BCCs should also be announced quickly.

In the meeting, the probe committee headed by Bhupesh Baghel submitted comprehensive report on Ambuja cement factory incident in Balodabazar.

The meeting was attended by state Congress treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal, vice presidents – TS Singhdeo, Baijnath Chandrakar, general secretaries – Subhash Sharma, Arun Vora, Bhupesh Baghel, Dr Shivkumar Daharia, Vidhan Mishra, Dr Premsai Singh, Devvrat Singh,  executive members – Abdul Hameed Hayat, Uday Mudliyar, Deepak Dubey, secretaries – Rajesh Tiwari, Shiv Narayan Dwivedi, Kalpana Patel, Shiv Singh Thakur and spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda.
