Ambuja mishap: Jogi for action against guilty

Raipur, February 01, 2013

Senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi has demanded registration of FIR under section 304(1) of IPC against management of Balodabazar-based Ambuja Cement factory where dust pipeline blast killed four labourers.

“The factory management cannot simply shrug off giving compensatory fund to family members of the deceased labourers. The accident happened due to its negligent attitude as it failed to do regular maintenance of the dust pipeline,” Jogi said.

Expressing deep anguish over the killing of four labourers, Jogi asked the state Industries department and the local administrations to frequently conduct inspection of the factories to avert reiteration of Ambuja mishap.

Cong holds factory management responsible

Congress has blamed the factory management responsible for Ambuja mishap. The party also condemned police lathicharge on villagers in the aftermath of incident.

PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said the incident once again exposed the government’s irresponsible and insensitive attitude. Congress spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said the accident would have averted if the Ambuja management had shown alertness.

He also slammed the local administration and police to create confusion about the mishap.
