Santosh Yadav, who climbed Mt Everest twice and has received Padmashree from Government of India, paid courtesy visit to chief minister Raman Singh at the latter’s residence at evening on Febraury 15. Yadav was in Raipur to participate in the government-organised Youth Conclave 2013.
She informed the CM about her Delhi-based organisation - Everest Foundation, through which she teaches leadership skills and imparts training on adventurous sports. She said she would like to train the young talents of Chhattisgarh too in her organisation.
Hailing Yadav’s offer, the CM said the government would soon make provisions for state youth to obtain training on leadership skills and risk management. For this, he said, Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (RSU) will function as nodal agency, he added.
The CM also congratulated Yadav for climbing Mt Everest twice and extended his best wishes to the latter for her future. On the occasion, Yadav gifted a copy of Ramcharit Manas to the CM.
During her meeting with the CM, Yadav was accompanied by RSU vice chancellor Professor SK Pandey.
