School education minister Brijmohan Agrawal feels that only literacy of
girls can help the society t progress. Agrawal expressed these views during
annual function of Patel Vidya Mandir Mahamai Para on Thursday.
He said the government was running several literacy
programmes across the state and was giving special attention on infrastructural
development of education system.
Indicating towards government’s free uniform and text
book distribution scheme, Saraswati cycle scheme, scholarship scheme, etc, he
said the literacy rate had increased in the state due to such schemes.
He informed that the government had also achieved
target of opening primary school in every one kilometre and pre-middle school
in every three kilometre in rural pockets. He said now the government was
focussing on expanding education at middle-school level in rural areas.
On the occasion, Agrawal announced to give Rs five
lakh for construction of additional rooms in the school. Later, he distributed
prices to the talented students of the school.
