CG major fund feeding channel for BJP: Hariprasada

Raipur, November 04, 2011
Chhattisgarh has become major fund feeding channel for BJP due to high corruption rate in the state in last seven years. In fact, corruption is ubiquitous in the government from Chief Minister’s office to panchayats. The days of BJP regime are numbered. The Congress is determined to root out this government in next Assembly elections. Launching tirade against the government, the state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada expressed these words while he and senior partymen were interacting with the media persons after the first meeting of PCC executive on Friday.
He said even the senior BJP leader LK Advani’s anti-corruption yatra proved to be worthless as he too failed to remain impartial while giving clean chit to Raman Singh government facing corruption charges.
The PCC president Nandkumar Patel said the party would intensify its agitations against the BJP government in future by sticking to non-violence and maintaining aggression. “We have chalked out strategy in this connection during PCC meeting and would take the issues against the government to streets,” Patel said.
He informed that the PCC also approved the proposal to constitute DCCs in 11 new districts, i.e. Bijapur and Narayanpur which were formed earlier and the recently announced Bemetara, Balod, Balodabazar, Gariyaband, Mungeli, Surajpur, Balrampur, Kondagaon and Sukma.
When asked whether the Congress would adhere to its demand of more number of districts, Patel said, “We had suggested for formation of 11 more districts including Samri, Pratappur, Manendragarh, Sitapur, Pathhalgaon, Pendra and Gaurela in northern part of the state, Sihava-Nagri and Daundi Lohara-Bhanupratappur in southern party and Sarangarh, Bhatapara and Naya Raipur in central part. But the CM put aside our recommendations because of his stubbornness and little knowledge about the geographical conditions of the state.”
The CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said corruption, crime and lawlessness prevailed in the state. “The BJP is exploiting the state’s natural resources, deceiving people, selling farmers’ lands to the industrialists and is posing negligent attitude towards incidents that happened in Balod eye camp. The Congress will strongly raise these issues before public in the coming days,” he said.

‘Anna, dada…no one is above Parliament’
When asked whether the Congress-led UPA government would bring as strong Lokpal Bill as Anna Hazare and his team had drafted, Hariprasada said when the standing committee had been assigned the job to draft the Bill then there was no question of Anna or anybody else. “The committee will table the Bill in the Parliament. Now, whether to pass it or not is the jurisdiction of the House members and Anna, dada or no one is above the Parliament,” he said. Asked whether Anna’s nationwide anti-corruption movement worked as image-breaker for Congress, Hariprasada denied and said ‘rather Anna fever failed to harm Congress’.

‘Kejriwal got Rs 9.2 lakh during Hissar by-poll’
Hariprasada alleged that Rs 9.2 lakh returned by Arvind Kejriwal as dues to Income Tax department through Prime Minister was not loaned by his friends but came from Hissar by-poll inn Haryana. “Kejriwal got this amount during his anti-Congress campaign at Hissar,” he charged.

‘Govt sending wrong data about crop production to centre’
The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Charandas Mahant alleged that the state government was sending wrong data to the Centre about crop production. “The crop area of the state has reduced but the government is denying it. Instead, it is purchasing crops from the nearby states and producing wrong figures to the Centre,” he said.

‘Details of party fund are being sent to EC’
On a query whether the Congress too would disclose about the details of its party funds like Team Anna, the AICC treasurer Motilal Vora said the party always send the details to the Election Commission of India to maintain transparency.
